A documentary film from which we reconstruct a part of the dispersed memory of the communities involved in the petroleum development and heiresses of the scourges of the culture of the oil.

General information

A documentary film from which we reconstruct a part of the dispersed memory of the communities involved in oil exploitation and heirs of the scourges of the oil culture. The cities that are born in the heat of the oil exploitation, have the very defined characteristics that we could even relate to the conquest of the far west (USA) the search for gold in the 19th century. There is a confluence of nationalities and a confluence of uprooted spiritualities. The antagonistic confrontation that accompanies this process and is the narrative axis of this film is the materiality that the anti-values front of oil and the spirituality seen through art and creation mean art Taller Libre de Arte del Tigre.

  • Project that rescues historical memory.

  • Visibiliza unpublished processes of ours to gesticulate historical associate, impressed by the antivalues of the culture of the oil.

  • Process realizes a critical review of this giving voice to the rich human histories, narrated by those who lived through the experience of migrating seduced by the sleep of progress and of instantaneous wealth, antivalues that accompany the petroleum development.

  • It rescues the antagonistic confrontation between the materiality (the oil and its artificial wealths) and the spirituality, the creation, like resistance opposite to the impact that meant the culture of the oil in our villages and cities (the art and the plastic creation of the Workshop Frees of Art of the Tiger)

Goals

  • To generate a contribution with this documentary film, rescuing processes of historical memory to generate reflections and actions as regards the born antivalues of the culture of the oil and that today survive in our way of understanding the world and from our point of view. they are responsible for the widespread social decomposition and for the present socioeconomic problems in our process sociohistórico current.

  • To count a history that goes beyond the oil. Small unpublished human histories that count a country, with the only characteristics. A space that has other essential and important aspects in its process, to spread, to make visible the Free Workshop of Art of the Tiger, its esthetics, its contribution, its artists, its processes of life and its active resistance against the predatory petroleum context.

  • We are looking with determination for a way of taking the people to this memory and its own history that is not known for them and for most of the Venezuelans and the persons in the world. Exactly with this type of documentaries, we manage to contribute this possibility.

Why this is important
