General information
12 no Camiño is a web series where fiction and documentary are mixed with the pilgrim tour a twelve university-student-group of the so-called old age decided to do, they started the walk in the Camino de Santiago Sanabrés which communicates Ourense and Santiago de Compostela through a route as unknown as lovely.
This road movie will consist of 6 chapters of 10 minutes each, with a total running time of 60 minutes. We will talk about the transforming capacity of the Camino, the solidarity, companionship, and friendship that arises between people who meet during the pilgrimages, and most importantly: we will talk about an enterprising, active, and adventurous third age. Because the Camino is for everyone, regardless of their condition or age.
Description of the project. Main features, strengths and differentials.
Each chapter will focus on the story of two characters that will guide us through a stage of the Camino, we will be travelling from the past to the present under a premise: due to an unexpected event, which prevents one of our main characters to continue the journey, the whole group was not able to reach their goal. In solidarity, his companions decide to stop until the group manages to get together again to finish the Camino all together.
Our aim is ambitious but simple: we want to highlight the entrepreneurial capacity of these women and men, we want to promote values such as solidarity, friendship, and empathy, and show the importance of growing older in an active and healthy way.
Why this is important
The Camino is a unique experience, where you stablish especial bounds with your partners or the people you meet. It can be in a way a transformation journey which can help us to get a deep knowledge of ourselves and may even change our lives in certain ways. The aim is to spread the message to all Galicia scattered around the world and make them feel closer to home, to all the enthusiasts of the Camino de Santiago no matter what country they are from, and to those who do not know it; to the generation of our twelve protagonists, who may be motivated by their experiences; and also to young people to whom we want to show the reality of older people capable of living adventures, getting into trouble and having a great time.
12 no Camiño is an audiovisual challenge for our artistic team because they have no previous experience neither in front of the camera nor behind it. Ramón Fernández, the founder, is a lover of the Camino, a man who has made many pilgrimages along different routes, and who now decides to write this letter of love to the Camino de Santiago. Our twelve protagonists are not professional actors either: they are twelve students at the University of Vigo / Ourense Campus of the University Programme for the Elderly, a group of classmates and friends who have decided to embark on this exciting adventure, a path full of learning, effort, and fun.
The technical crew will be made up of different professionals from the audiovisual sector, such as Andrés Rozados, Diego R. Aballe and Amanda Seijas. Andrés is the production director, he started this project with Ramón after directing the production of other projects such as “Entroidar”, “Superpunky: el musical”, “Fálame do silencio” or “Castelao: de chumbo a verba” among others. More than 10 years of experience producing TV programmes, short films, documentaries, and cinema, including the production management of 8 programmes for TVG and the film “Jacinto”, winner of the Audience Award in Sitges. Diego, with the role of director, trained in acting direction
at the ESAD in Galicia and in film directing at the ESCAC in Catalonia, founded his own production company in Galicia, Coven Films, and produced his first short film in 2019 Canibalismo which has attained more than 40 selections and 8 awards at national and international festivals. Amanda will oversee the artistic direction, trained in scenography by ESAD in Galicia and art direction by ESCAC, she has broad experience designing spaces for film, television, fashion, and advertising, she was the producer and art director in the short film Canibalismo.
